Privacy Policy

1. Introduction and Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how the Tasawwufmobile application (the "App") and website collect, use, disclose, retain and protect information. The App provides Islamic bayans, lecture series, events, announcements and the Shajra Sharif in English and Urdu. This policy applies to the iOS and Android versions of the App, this website and related support services.

2. Information We Collect

Most content can be browsed without creating an account. Depending on the features you use, we may process:

  • Account information: If you create an optional account, we process your email address, account identifier and authentication information. Authentication credentials are handled securely, and we do not receive your password in readable form.
  • Support and feedback information: If you contact us, we process the name, email address, message and any other information you choose to provide.
  • Notification information: If you enable notifications, the App processes a device notification token and your notification preferences.
  • Technical and diagnostic information: The App or its service infrastructure may process device type, operating system, App version, language, IP address, timestamps, security events, crash reports and basic usage information needed to operate, secure and improve the service.

The App does not request precise device location, payment-card details, government identification numbers, contacts, photos or health information for its normal operation.

3. How We Use Information

We use information only as reasonably necessary to:

  • provide and maintain the App, website and requested content;
  • create, authenticate and secure optional user accounts;
  • deliver notifications you choose to receive;
  • respond to support requests, feedback and account-deletion requests;
  • detect misuse, prevent fraud and protect the service;
  • diagnose technical problems and improve reliability and usability; and
  • comply with applicable legal obligations.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use personal information for third-party advertising or cross-app advertising profiles.

4. Legal Grounds and Consent

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, information is processed to provide the service you request, with your consent, to meet legal obligations, and for legitimate interests such as security, support and service improvement. You may withdraw consent for optional processing at any time, including by disabling notifications in your device settings.

5. Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell or rent personal information. Information may be disclosed only:

  • to service providers that support authentication, data hosting, notifications, diagnostics and customer support, solely to perform those services;
  • when reasonably necessary to comply with law, legal process or a lawful government request;
  • to protect users, the public, Tasawwuf or the rights and safety of others; or
  • as part of a service transfer or reorganisation, subject to appropriate confidentiality and privacy protections.

Service providers are expected to protect information and process it only for the services they provide. We do not permit them to use personal information for their own advertising.

6. Push Notifications

If you allow notifications, the App may notify you about new bayans, lectures, events, announcements or important service information. You can disable notifications at any time through your device settings.

7. Data Retention

We keep personal information only for as long as needed for the purpose for which it was collected. Account information is generally retained while your account remains active. Support messages and security records may be kept for a reasonable period to resolve requests, prevent abuse and meet legal obligations. Aggregated or de-identified information that no longer identifies you may be retained for service improvement.

8. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, including encrypted network connections, authentication controls and restricted access, to protect personal information. No internet transmission or storage method can be guaranteed completely secure, so users should also protect their account credentials and devices.

9. Children's Privacy and Safety

Tasawwuf is a general-audience service and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13 without appropriate parental consent. The App does not contain third-party advertising or permit public user-to-user communication.

If a parent or guardian believes a child has provided personal information, please contact us using the details below. We will review the request and delete the information when required. Parents and guardians are encouraged to supervise children's internet and App use.

10. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion or a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, or to withdraw consent. You may also disable push notifications through your device settings. To make a privacy request, contact us from the email address associated with your account so we can reasonably verify the request.

11. Account and Data Deletion

You can permanently delete your account directly in the App by opening the device drawer, tapping Delete Account, and following the confirmation steps. Account deletion removes the account and personal information associated with it, subject to the limited retention described below.

You may also request deletion by emailing tasawwuf@qalbsync.com from your registered email address or by using the Support page. We may ask for reasonable verification before acting on a request. Information may be retained only where necessary for legal obligations, security, fraud-prevention or dispute resolution. Any retained information will remain protected and will not be used for other purposes.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the App, our practices or legal requirements change. The revised policy will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Material changes may also be communicated in the App where appropriate.
